Sofia Vergara: I Had Thyroid Cancer at 28

In an honest moment that Happy Feet 2 actress revealed that she had was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when she was 28.

“I was very young. and when they tell you that word, it’s, like, ‘What are you talking about?’” Sofia shared on Nightline. “You always think, ‘death.’ That’s all you think when they tell you that. So it was, it was pretty scary.”

“When you have a responsibility, like a kid or like a family, you cannot give yourself the luxury of going, getting depressed,” she added. “So I think it’s more like a unconscious thing of just, you know, keep – let’s keep going, let’s keep going.”

Sofia is now 39-years old and cancer and has been cancer free for almost 9 years.
