Weekend Box Office

A lot of good movies came out this weekend, including the much anticipated Wanderlust with Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux. So what movie pulled in all the dough this weekend?

1-     Act of Valor, the movie that cast real life Navy Seals, was this week’s big winner. It brought in $24.7 million for its opening weekend.

2-     Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds came in the #2 spot bringing in $16mil.

3-     Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is still staying on top after 3 weeks in the theaters. It pulled in $13.4 million, and $76.7 total.

4-     Safe House is still bringing in money after 3 weeks in the theaters. It made another $11.4mil, totaling $98.1 million.

5-     The Vow brought in $10mil in its second week, bringing in $103 million total.

So where did Wanderlust rank in for opening weekend? It was a box office bomb, coming in at #8 behind Ghost Rider and This Means War. It only made $6.6 million. Eek!
