Katy Perry says ‘Part Of Me’ isn’t about Russell Brand (VIDEO)

Katy Perry blew everyone away with her performance at the Grammys. She sung her new hit “Part of Me” and it sounded like it was written about her soon-to-be ex hubby Russell Brand. She sang, “You can keep the diamond ring, it don’t mean nothing anyway. In fact, you can keep everything — except for me, ” so that does sound like she was taking a swipe at her ex.

But Katy just confessed in this interview that the song actually isn’t about Russell. She wrote the song two years ago and it didn’t go with her album at the time. It was always her intentions to release that song with a big bang in the spring.

She actually said that some of the music execs were urging her to say that her divorce inspired her to write the song, but she said that she wasn’t going to lie.
