Madonna’s album is only #1 because she cheated the system

Madonna’s new album MDNA is #1 on the charts, after selling 359k copies in its first week. But did she find a way to manipulate the sales and cheat the system? That’s what Forbes says!

Madonna had a promotion where if you bought one of her really expensive concert tickets, you also got a free copy of the album. Those numbers were included in her sales and they say that’s cheating since those albums weren’t actually purchased. Do you consider that cheating or did she just find a way to beat the system? I mean, her concerts are selling for more than $300 per ticket. The least she can do is throw in a CD to someone shelling out that kind of cash to see her, right?

But it’s not all Madonna’s glory this week. Justin Bieber’s new single Boyfriend isn’t doing bad either. It sold 520k downloads in the first week.
