Happy 4th of July from TH5!

As we stuff ourselves at festive BBQs with hot dogs, apple pie and surprisingly tasty kale salad from that vegan girl… Let’s not forget the real reason we all get to kick back on a Wednesday!

On July 4, 1776, our founders declared America’s independence from Great Britain; we no longer were going to take orders from the King of Britain.

And thank god they took a stand or we may have never discovered advanced dentistry.

In all seriousness, this was a ballsy move at the time; Britain had one of the strongest armies in the world. To go against the king was a crime punishable by death. But the king’s laws were unfair, so our founders decided it was worth the risk of war to win our freedom.

In 1783, the new United States won that war, which we now call the Revolutionary War.

And that concludes our history lesson for the day.
