American Idol’s Adam Lambert — CONTESTANT to JUDGE?

According to E! news, the Season 8 runner-up is in talks to appear as a judge on Season 12 of Fox’s American Idol. Sure, at first Adam Lambert seems like a great choice…

1. He was a show-stopper on the larger than life TV talent show.
2. He’s gone on to achieve stellar success outside Idol (not always the case…Ruben-cough-Studdard)
3. He already knows where all of the restrooms are.

Something still feels wrong about Adam, a contestant, returning as a judge though… Like we’d be kissing our cousin! Sure, we all have that one cousin or step-cousin who is very good looking (it’s okay you can admit it), but it STILL doesn’t mean we should kiss them!

Is American Idol getting too incestuous or is this is a genius idea?

As for whether or not the other Idol judges will return, E! reports that Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler’s positions are still up in the air, while Jennifer Lopez will not be returning.

“I miss doing other things,” JLo said recently on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.” ”[Idol] really does lock you down.”

In addition to his possible upcoming judging duties, Lambert’s album ‘Trespassing,’ which has sold 77,000 copies, hit number one on the Billboard album charts in May.
