Sofia Vergara got engaged right before her big 4-0! (PHOTO)

Sofia Vergara celebrated more than just her 40^th birthday yesterday. She had a birthday party with a big group of friends and family and she proudly showed off her new engagement ring. Her on-and-off again boyfriend, Nick Loeb, reportedly popped the question to her during a visit to the Mayan ruins. She’s been flaunting her engagement ring and even posted a picture of her wearing it on Twitter but has yet to comment on it.

Hopefully Nick is a better choice of a husband than the last guy she almost married. Sofia actually dated Tom Cruise and they almost tied the knot just three months before he met Katie Holmes back in 2005.
