MIKE TYSON on BROADWAY!? (VIDEO)

Written by +

Ex-champ/Ex-con, Mike Tyson, will bring his one man show to New York city.

Have Broadway’s standards gone down? Or is he just that good?

Mike told the ladies of The View, this morning, how this all came to fruition. He said that he expressed an interest in doing something raw and real on stage and next thing he knew the guys who did ‘Thunder From Down Under’ (Las Vegas male review show) were knocking at his door.

Okay, this is making more sense now…

The limited run of Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth in Vegas at the MGM Grand in April, attracted the attention of Spike Lee, who will direct Mike’s NYC run (July 31 to Aug. 12 at the Longacre Theatre).

Okay and now the Broadway thing is making sense too…

Spike Lee said, “It takes courage to get in the ring. It also takes courage to get on stage.”

Yes, especially if you have a lisp.

Mike was asked how the nerves of opening night compare to those of fight night.
His response, “The same I just don’t have to worry about going to the hospital after.”
