Modern Family coming to an end? The cast refuses to work unless they get more money.

The Modern Family cast is holding out for a big pay day but things aren’t going their way right now. They were supposed to start filming season 4 yesterday but the cast didn’t show up so it was cancelled.
Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara all filed a lawsuit yesterday asking to have their contracts voided. The contracts have them locked in for another four more seasons but they want a lot more money to continue on with the successful show.
Everyone was given a good pay raise last season but it wasn’t enough. They were earning between $60k to $150k an episode but the show is bringing in some bank. The show earned $164mil last season, plus another $110mil in a syndication deal.
The cast rejected the studio’s latest offer, which was $200k an episode for seasons 4 and 5 and $225k for season six, with additional raises going up to $325k per episode for season 9.
ABC’s likely going to have to budge on those paychecks because they probably aren’t going to cancel such a successful show and they can’t start filming without the cast.
