Lolo Jones gun comment- innocent or insensitive?

Olympian Lolo Jones is competing in the 100-meter hurdles for the US next week but she’s also giving Dane Cook a run in the inappropriate comment department. Well, sorta. She didn’t go all Dane Cook about the recent Dark Knight massacre but some people are upset over a comment that she made.

After the US men didn’t do so well in archery but Lola said they will win in all in the shooting competition because Americans are great with guns. She tweeted, “USA men’s archery lost the gold medal to Italy but that’s ok, we are Americans . . . when’s da gun shooting competition?”

Several followers were upset about that comment, saying that it hasn’t even been two weeks since the Dark Knight massacre. But Lolo didn’t back down from her comment. She later tweeted, “Sorry you guys only think of violence, but I think of all the hunting I do with southerners in da south. It’s impressive.”

Later, she retweeted someone’s comment that said that she was right because the US did dominate the gun shoot.
