MARIAH CAREY acts like the DIVA we all know she is—Watch out IDOL!

At Russell Simmons‘ Art For Life benefit in the Hamptons this weekend, Mariah Carey let her inner-diva out to play!

She reportedly, had a long list of requests, which Russell surely knew—HE BETTER HONOR—or Mariah would NOT be helping ANYONE raise ANY money for ANY cause.

Mariah’s top concern seemed to be that ALL cameras be SHUT OFF while she was on stage! Get this, the reason being: she didn’t like the way her make up looked.

Ha! Hold on to your seats folks, because we’re in for a lonnnnng bumpy ride on this season’s American Idol.

Reps for the event felt the opposite, saying “Mariah looked stunning.”

We can see that for ourselves here in the picture. It also appears that her smiling hubby, Nick Cannon, has dealt with Mariah and her alleged “bad hair and/or bad make-ups days” many times before.

We’re glad to see that Nick keeps a sense of humor about it all!

Mariah’s other Diva Demands included:

• That no one but Russell Simmons could be on stage when she went on.

• She had to come in through the kitchen, which needed to be cleared. She didn’t want to see anyone, or be seen, before stepping foot on stage. (She wanted Soledad O’Brien and Grant Hill out of there.)

• And since she didn’t allow cameras, the big screens also had to be turned off.

By contrast, Salt n Pepa, everyone’s favorite ’90s duo, who performed at Art for Life, only asked for water backstage and brought down the house with hits like ‘Let’s Talk About S-E-X.’

In conclusion, it is UNDENIABLE that Mariah Carey will be a DIVA until the day she dies (and probably after that too). However, can we all admit that (on a MUCH smaller scale) we too can be unreasonable at certain times…of the month…and we don’t always want our picture snapped either?
