Brad Pitt stars in “Killing Them Softly” and the pompadour hairdo has never looked hotter!” (TRAILER)

Besides the obvious Brad Pitt appeal of Killing Them Softly; this gritty crime drama is also filled with bad a$$ grizzled character actors like James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Richard Jenkins.

That said, Brad Pitt‘s character Jackie Cogan, an enforcer who comes to Boston to kill some small-time crooks after they rob a poker game, is definitely the stand-out. He brings an awesome quiet edge, delivering lines such as: ”I like to kill softly…from a distance…” while Johnny Cash’s ‘The Man Comes Around’ plays not so softly in the background.

The film is based on a 1974 crime novel Cogan’s Trade by the George V. Higgins; Killing Them Softly has been updated to reflect modern times. Brad Pitt’s latest collaboration with Andrew Dominik (who did: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), got rave reviews at its recent premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Killing Them Softly arrives in theaters on Oct. 19.
