R. Kelly cancels cruise ship gig ‘cuz it can’t cough up enough cash

Hold on—that sounded bad—let’s try this again…
R. Kelly was booked to perform (all the way back in December) on a special five-day tour called “Lover Letter Cruise;” planned to take place aboard Carnival’s “Destiny” cruise ship.

The special ‘let’s get it on’ voyage is supposed to set sail on October 1, 2012 (less than 2 months from now). But, that didn’t stop R. Kelly from backing out of the deal after the promoters (Concerts Cruise LLC) “couldn’t cough up the cash they originally promised,” according to TMZ.

The ship is scheduled to travel from Miami to the Bahamas, making port stops in Grand Turks, Half Moon Cay and finally Nassau, Bahamas. Rooms start at $1,499 for a double occupancy cabin, but that price included access to one of R. Kelly’s two on-board shows.

Concerts Cruise sent an email to customers informing them of the cancellation and saying they will “handle all applicable refunds at point of purchase.” HOWEVER, the company’s web site is still selling R. Kelly as the headliner…it even says that passengers can get up close and personal with him at an “exclusive black tie reception and private meet and greet.”

Will Concerts Cruise cough up the cash to get R. Kelly to show? 
Or will a lot of women gonna stuff themselves into spanx and spandex, only to be stood up by R. Kelly?
