Chris Rock shows comedians how it’s done—successfully tells shooting joke
Written by Russ Francis+
Watch and learn — Dane Cook, Jeff Ross, Daniel Tosh — and all the other comedians who plan to tell moronic jokes about horrific events…. Chris Rock manages to appropriately tell a joke about the mass shooting issue.
THE KEY?? Make the shooter the villain and actually CARE. It’s as simple as that.
DON’T make fun of the innocent victims (cough…Dane Cook).
DON’T minimize the tragedy (cough…Jeff Ross).
DON’T say that you hope a female audience member gets raped by five guys (cough…Daniel Tosh); this one seems like a no-brainer though.
Comedy god Chris Rock shows all the amateur comics how it’s done. This is what he had to say about the shootings on CBS This Morning, ”We got to figure out guns … We got to figure out how to stop this gun stuff. We do. Whenever people try to defend their guns, they always say, ‘I’m protecting my property. I’m protecting my property.’ Every time there’s a mass shooting, it’s a guy who lives with his mother. He owns no property.”
Chris Rock also recently spoke out about the Trayvon Martin shooting saying,”I don’t totally agree with Bill Cosby. He said it wasn’t racial, it’s a gun issue. Well, it’s a gun-racial issue … You know what makes you approach a six-foot-three black guy in the middle of the night? A gun. Paul Blart’s not supposed to have a gun.”
This is nothing new for Chris Rock though. His career was built on his unique gift of being able to shed light on sensitive subjects, while also somehow managing to make us laugh. Chris also talked about gun control in his “Bigger and Blacker” comedy special. He said, “We don’t need gun control… we need ‘bullet’ control … bullets should each coast $5,000… if bullets costs $5,000 there’d be no more innocent bystanders.”

Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to
start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
