Honey Boo Boo Child’s family investigated by Child Protective Services (PIC)

Written by +

Honey Boo Boo Child does have a different kind of family. They are some rednecks from Georgia with really silly nicknames. They live on junk food and occasionally dine on some roadkill, neither are exactly the best cuisine for kiddos. But the CPS was alerted when 6-year old Alana (Honey Boo Boo Child) was videotaped dancing for money on a bar.

They were already aware of this family.. Neighbors had complained before that “the parents feed her energy drinks, cheese puffs for breakfast and brag about how they cook roadkill for meals. She even eats roadkill with flies swarming around her head!” but they never stepped in until they saw this video of Alana shaking it for money.

Mama June defended the video, saying that it was ‘it was a college bar, not a sleazy one’. Keep in mind, this was personal family footage and not something that was recorded by TLC.

But after an investigation, CPS decided that there was no reason to bring this concern to court so they threw out the case.

What do you think of the way that Honey Boo Boo Child is being raised?

DFCS in georgia is a crying shame. I’ve witnessed this first hand. Their job is to look out for innocent children, but FAIL is what I’ve seen. I haven’t seen this show, but it doesn’t sound like it represents GA in a positive light. Oh well, it’s not in my control.

I think the day to day activities that we see on t.v. from this family are atrocious and very unhealthy in so many ways! But if they really act like this off camera, then someone should step in to stop the shameless, gross self promotion!

This is a disaster waiting to happen. Exploitation of this type is symptomatic of psychological sickness preyed upon by a self serving industry intent on dipecting southerners as some preliterate backwoods culture. It appears that the stereotype “Hillbilly” image of the South is a popular way to “mock” a geograhic area of the country and its people. Shame on these willing idiots and those who prostitute them for gain. They are certainly a misrepresentation of the usual person from the South, Georgia or the county in which they live. As former Governor Zell miller stated, the rural southerner is the one group who can be mocked and disparaged in the media and not have some advocacy group become involved because of offense to the group.

That is such a true statement as I have ever heard. If someone was making fun of a black family or a muslim family people would be protesting and acting stupid all over the media and TLC would pull the plug. I am from Mississippi and quite proud of my Southern heritage. Many people that are just simple country folk get lumped into the “redneck” catagory by default. This is so not fair. You can still make fun of rednecks and fat people and get by with it. So tell me why? In this politically correct world they are still able to promote making fun of these people………I think it is bullshit. I don’t agree with Honey Boo Boo but she is what she is, a product of her environment and will be willing victim of her family and the media.
