Written by +

Tony Scott shot to fame after directing some notable movies, such as ‘Top Gun’, ‘Beverly Hills Cop 2’ and ‘Enemy of the State’. Some of his more recent work includes ‘Domino’, ‘Life in a Day’ and ‘Prometheus’. It was even rumored that he was in talks to direct a Top Gun sequel. His older brother, Ridley Scott, is also a talented director, responsible for ‘Thelma and Louise’, ‘Black Hawk Down’ and ‘American Gangster’.

Tragically, Tony Scott committed suicide yesterday by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the Long Beach area of LA. Witnesses said that about 12:30 in the afternoon, he climbed a nine-foot fence and jumped ‘without hesitation’. The bridge is about 185 feet above the water. He was just 68 years old.

The police said there was a suicide note left in his office but no word on what it said.

He leaves behind two twin sons and his wife Donna.
