Match made in musical hell. Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger are engaged!

Last time we heard about Avril Lavigne’s love life, she was denying rumors that she had split with longtime boyfriend Brody Jenner.

Back in January, it went around that Brody and Avril had split. Brody went on Twitter to defend their relationship, saying, “It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her.”

The very next month, she started hanging out with Nickelback’s lead singer, Chad Kroeger. They made musical hell together for Avril’s 5^th album and, I guess, fell in love. Her rep confirmed, “A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together.”

No one even knew that they were dating but all of a sudden, it came out that they were engaged.

Oh yeah… and they announced it on Brody Jenner’s 29^th birthday.

Chad popped the question with a 14-karat diamond ring earlier this month.

Neither one has commented on the engagement but Avril did retweet a congratulatory message from one of the Nickelback bandmates.
