Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger announced their surprise engagement, much to the dismay of anyone who likes music.

Avril flashed her 14 carat diamond ring on the cover of Hello! Canada magazine and the newly engaged explained their whirlwind romance.

Chad said that he was enamored with his bride-to-be from the get go. He said, “I knew I was falling for her. It was incredibly powerful and something I’ll never forget.”

Avril explained her love for her Canadian soulmate, saying, “He makes me laugh every day. He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive.”

The couple hasn’t set a wedding date just yet because ‘they’re really enjoying this moment’.. or maybe they’re really just getting to know each other since they’ve only been dating for the last six months.
