Michael Clarke Duncan, known for his roles in the ‘Green Mile’, ‘Armageddon’ and ‘Talladega Nights’ died yesterday morning. He was only 54 years old.
He suffered a heart attack nearly two months ago and never did really bounce back. He’s been in the hospital ever since and just suddenly passed away.
His girlfriend or fiancée Omarosa Manigault left his hospital room for a short amount of time and when she returned, he had died. Omarosa told Radar Online that she is devastated because he’s the ‘love of her life’. They were reportedly secretly engaged and set to wed in January.
Tom Hanks tweeted condolences for his Green Mile co-star. He tweeted, “I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.”
Fun fact- Michael started off as a bodyguard for the stars, working for Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Notorious B.I.G. He was actually supposed to be guarding Biggie the night he was murdered. That’s when he decided to pursue acting full time.
