Naturally, the things that come to mind when we think about Labor Day Weekend are: barbecuing with friends and family, hitting the beach one final time and going to see movies that scare the bejesus out of us!?? The Possession, which is about a sweet young girl who is visited by an evil ancient spirit that ultimately inhabits and devours her, possessed the No.1 spot over the Holiday weekend…
Another film that debuted this weekend and also cracked the Top 5 is Lawless, which stars a host of handsome out laws including: Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke and Guy Pearce.
Below are the Top 5 box office performers this weekend:
1- The Possession* possessed $21 million in its premiere weekend.
2- Lawless* debuted to $13 million.
3- The Expendables 2 strong-armed in another $11 million ($68 million for its 3-week total).
4- The Bourne Legacy, for the second weekend in a row, brought in $9 million ($98 million for the 4-week total).
5- ParaNorman produced $8 million ($40 million for its 3-week total).
