Tom Hank recalls a funny story about Michael Clarke Duncan at his funeral (VID)

Tom Hank’s got to hear some good stories about his buddy Michael Clarke Duncan while they were working together on the set of The Green Mile. So Tom had a funny one to tell at his memorial service on Monday.

Michael, who played the giant John Coffey in the movie, passed away last month after suffering respiratory failure at only 54 years old. But his service was full of laughs thanks to Tom. He recalled a story that Michael had told him about getting initiated into a gang.

Michael said that back in Chicago, he wanted to join this gang that was recognized by a little red patch in their hair. He got initiated in the gang by getting beat up for 20 minutes. When Michael got home, his mother noticed that red spot in his hair and asked him what it was. He proudly told his mother that he was in the gang… And she smacked him with her frying pan, told him to cut that red in his hair and go tell the gang that he couldn’t be apart of them.

So he did.. and they beat him up for a second time.

Now I’m doing this story any justice. You have to listen to Tom tell it. See that vid below.
