Sally Struthers (’80s actress) gets an “O.U.I.” (Operating Under the Influence)

What was she “operating” while drunk — a flight of stairs??

Sally Struthers who is most famous for her role on All in the Family and her gut-wrecnhing Public Service Announcements for the Christian Children’s Fund was arrested in Ogunquit, Maine. She is there to perform in the stage version of 9 to 5.

Shortly after sally was arrested for “OUI,” which turns out simply to be Maine’s version of DUI or DWI, the following PSA was released:

“For just $1 a day you can buy a cup of coffee (crappy gas station coffee, but still…a cup of hot, brown liquid). For that same $1, you can also send bail money to the Ogunquit, Maine Police Station care of Sally Struthers…If you would simply forgo heartburn, Sally could go free. BUT for just $5 a day you can get a delicious 20-oz Venti Vanilla Soy Latte from Starbucks… Do the right thing…you only live once…You can bail out a celeb any day of the week, but you can only have that first cup of coffee once a day.”

Sally actually sounds pretty stressed about this and rumors are spreading—like Jello shots at a 9 to 5 wrap party—about this having a negatively impact her involvement with her children’s organization. She is denying the charges and her rep released the following statement:

“Sally is working and she is fine and she loves The Ogunquit Playhouse and her yearly time in Ogunquit. We deny these charges.”
