A crew member was found dead on the set of the Lone Ranger on Friday.
Mike Bridger was a welder and water safety guy that had worked in the entertainment industry for the last 20 years. He had first worked alongside producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Johnny Depp on the set of ‘Pirates and Caribbean’ movie.
On Friday, Mike was cleaning this tank on the movie set and someone noticed that there weren’t any bubbles coming from his gear. When they pulled him out of the water, he was in full cardiac arrest. He was careflighted to the hospital but they were never able to restart his heart. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Mike was only 48 years old.
At first, they thought that he had drowned in the tank but now it seems that he suffered a heart attack.
His family doesn’t blame the production company for his death and believes he died from natural causes.
A Walt Disney spokesperson released a statement saying, “We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital. Our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event.”
