Ben Affleck compares his relationship with JLo to Scott Peterson’s murder trial
Written by Russ Francis+
Ben Affleck said that when he was dating Jennifer Lopez, the public treated him worse than baby killer Scott Peterson, while very similar to a You Tube bullying video—where a bunch of onlookers who have zero beef with the guy on the ground, suddenly can’t wait to take a free shot.
But, tell us how you really feel Ben? Actually, his description of the wonderful world of gossip news is SPOT ON!
In December’s issue of GQ, Ben’s interviewed about his Oscar buzzing Argo, but instead he gets a few things off his chest. He talks in detail about the painful backlash he encountered in 2003 and 2004, when he was dating JLo.
But, was it really Jennifer or was it Gigli?
Ben carries on about the JLo effect, “The amount of venom… I must have touched some specific little place in the consciousness. I don’t believe I didn’t deserve any negative judgment for anything, but it was just sort of out of whack.”
“What was that guy’s name who killed his wife and dumped her off the side of a boat? Peterson. I remember thinking he actually gets slightly better treatment than I do in the press. At least they had to say ‘alleged killer.’
The criticism however, forced Ben to take a good hard look at himself. He took some time off to figure out his next step, which wound up being directing. He went from doing movies like Gigli to movies like Argo.
Thank you JLo.
