Jon Bon Jovi’s 19-year old daughter arrested after overdosing on heroin (UPDATE)

***UPDATE- The charges against Stephanie Rose have been dropped. New York has a law in place called the Good Samaritan 911 law, which means anyone who overdoses or tries to help someone who overdoses can’t be charged with possession. The law was put into place to encourage people to call for help rather than be scared of getting prosecuted.

Jon Bon Jovi’s 19-year daughter Stephanie Rose Bongiovi isn’t doing just the typical college partying. She ended up getting arrested after overdosing on heroin.

An ambulance was called to Stephanie’s dorm room at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY yesterday after her friend reported that she was unresponsive and overdosing on heroin. The paramedics revived her and rushed her to the hospital. The police swept the dorm room and found small quantities of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

They arrested the guy that called 911, 21-year old Ian Grant, and later arrested Stephanie at the hospital. They charged her with misdemeanor possession of the heroin, misdemeanor marijuana possession, criminally using drug paraphernalia and a violation related to the marijuana. They did not cuff her and take her into custody though. They just issued her an appearance ticket at the hospital and told her they will fingerprint and photograph her when she shows up to court.

This isn’t a bad habit that Stephanie recently picked up. A friend said that she’s had ongoing drug problems and everyone has tried to get her to go to rehab but she wouldn’t listen. Her father has also battled addictions in the past.

The school is cooperating with the police investigation and hasn’t commented on Stephanie’s future at the college just yet. Not only did Stephanie and Ian harm themselves and break the law, they also violated their college policy.

Bon Jovi was supposed to perform at December 5^th on Times Square stage for a concert benefiting Hamilton’s scholarships and arts program but that could possibly change if his daughter gets kicked out of school. He has yet to release a statement concerning his daughter.

Stephanie is the oldest of Jon’s four children and his only daughter.
