Channing Tatum is QUITTING acting?!?

Channing Tatum is a smart business and seems to be making all the right moves.. and he thinks it’s time for him to quit acting.

Ok, I just wanted to get your heart racing like it does every time you watch Magic Mike. He’s not really quitting, just taking a year off so he can find the perfect film to direct.

He started this production company several years before anyone was even taking him seriously. He was a producer on 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, which started at his production company. And now that he’s an established actor and producer, he’s ready to add ‘director’ to his resume.

He’s working with his production partner and Magic Mike screenwriter, Reid Carolin, to find the perfect directing project.

Channing said, “[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we’re going to shut things down and write the first thing that we’re going to direct. We’re going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let’s take a few and really get caring about that section of our career.”

Channing and Reid have taken the last few years to learning from the best, including Steven Soderbergh, who’s responsible for the Ocean’s movies, Erin Brockovich, Magic Mike and the upcoming medical thriller starring Mr. TatDAYUM, Side Effects. And Channing says that he couldn’t do it without Soderbergh’s guidance.

So he’ll be back, hopefully in g-strings, after he adds more awesome to his work resume.
