Robert De Niro Vs. Robert Redford

Well well well…here are two celebs we don’t talk about nearly enough—Robert Redford and Robert De Niro. Here’s the deal, Robert Redford heads up the very popular and highly acclaimed Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah—last year, it brought the city $80 million… Robert De Niro is the man behind the newer and very hip Tribecca Film Festival…in Tribecca, New York.

Now Redford wants to bring a full-fledged version of Sundance to NY; he’s already done a mini-version. Redford has his sights set on Brooklyn, but that’s moving in on De Niro’s turf since the only thing separating Brooklyn from Tribecca is the Brooklyn Bridge.

And Redford is really pushing it, because he plans to hold the festival, literally, under the Brooklyn Bridge…in some sort of funky facility. Apparently, there’s been significant gentrification to the neighborhood; either that or participants are shooting their films on stollen prepaid disposable cell phones. How very Art Deco.
