Oprah may have scored the Lance Armstrong soul-baring confession interview but she didn’t snag the coveted first on-camera interview to the other big sports liar- Notre Dame’s linebacker Manti Te’o. That honor went to Katie Couric.

Manti Te’o, the man that’s either behind or a victim of the dead girlfriend hoax, is giving his first on-camera interview to Katie this week. The interview will be aired this Thursday.

Manti did speak to ESPN off camera on Friday. He admitted to them that he handled the Lennay Kekua (dead girlfriend) situation poorly but he was not involved in the hoax. He said that he only realized last week that he was duped. Guess he it all started to become clear about the same time that the media busted his story wide open?

I skipped the Lance gives more excuses interview but I’m going to set my DVR to record this one. I gotta know how he intends to dig his way out of this one because I’m not buying it.
