At first, I just thought Manti Te’o was guilty, guilty, guilty and he should be burned at the stake, but I’m a little old fashioned.

But after his interview yesterday with Katie Couric, I might be switching sides. Maybe he truly is just a naïve boy that was fooled by this big hoax. Of course, he was set up with Katie because they are both repped by the same company so it’s not like she could massacre him during the interview.

Here’s what went down. Manti stuck to his story and said that he was duped in this hoax. To prove his innocence, he even released three voicemails of his fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua.

The voicemails do sound like a girl… If I was on the phone, I would think this was a chick too. Consider me duped.

According to TMZ, the person on the phone posing as Lennay is his buddy Ronaiah Tuiasasopo. He apologized to Manti and told him that three other girls were in on the hoax too. The female friend said, “My cousins and I are the ones who are behind this whole shenanigans that are going on with Manti…dating online, calling, emailing, impersonating a girl’s voice.”

Now it’s been rumored that Manti made it all up just to cover up the fact that he’s gay but when Katie asked him if he’s gay, he vehemently denied it! Manti responded, “No! Far from it. Faaaaaar from that.”
