Everyone knew Jay Leno‘s run on The Tonight Show was going to come to an end and after weeks of speculation, NBC has finally announced that Jimmy Fallon will take over the show next year. Each comedian made it their duty to make jokes about it in their monologue last night. Even though NBC has already fired Leno once for a younger comedian (Conan), they’re willing to try it again with Fallon.
Check out what all the late-night hosts are saying about the switch up.
Are you excited that Fallon is taking over late-nights?
Jay Leno, jokes about David Letterman not getting the gig (shocker) and congratulates Fallon on his new time slot.
David Letterman doesn’t really have a joke to make because he has been trying to snatch The Tonight Show from Leno since…well forever.
Conan O’Brian makes it short and sweet because let’s be honest, he’s probably a little bitter that NBC is taking another chance on a younger comedian.
Jimmy Kimmel leaves a nice sweet comment on his Twitter to Fallon. How cute is that?!
congratulations to my dear, sweet @jimmyfallon – a formidable rival and an incredible lover
