Sad news to report today. Gia Allemand from Season 14 of the Bachelor and two seasons of Bachelor pad passed away a few days after a suicide attempt. She was just 29 years old.
Gia competed for Jake Pavelka’s love on Season 14 and came in third place. She did later find love with NBA star Ryan Anderson from the New Orleans Pelicans.
On Monday, we heard that Gia was rushed to the hospital and remained in critical condition. Now we find out that happened after a suicide attempt.
Her boyfriend Ryan found her hanging in her home on Monday. She was taken to the hospital and put on life support but she had already lost too much brain and organ function, so the family decided to pull the plug yesterday. Her mother and Ryan were at her side when she died.
There was no mention of a suicide note but sources close to Gia said that she was upset because Ryan hadn’t popped the question yet. And he had the perfect opportunity in Vegas just weeks before.
Gia just did an interview last week and although she was happy, she seemed a little lost too. She commented on Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock, saying, “I think I need advice from her! I really do! She’s just a strong girl and she knows what she wants. She’s not confused about it. She’s not scared to show her feelings, so I need advice from her.”
She also posted a few eerie messages on Twitter. She posted a picture that said, “Legend says when you can’t sleep at night, it’s because you’re awake in someone else’s dream,” and later posted the bible passage, “Proverbs 21:3 “Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering.”
Several Bachelor/ette alums have tweeted their condolences, including her season’s Bachelor. Jake Pavelka tweeted, “I had to pull over, I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel.”
