American Idol and X-Factor have some different strategies on how they can finally start winning the singing competition show battle.
Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe wants to boost the ratings by putting together a dream team of judges. He wants to get Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Pink and Diddy to come on as judges next season.
He wants to ditch all the judges from the current season.. He tried to get rid of everyone last year but couldn’t cut ties with Randy Jackson. Was that Mariah Carey’s doing maybe? He is her manger. Maybe that was part of the deal.. In order to get the diva, they’d have to keep the dawg.
But would those big judges be able to make the show interesting or just drain more of a paycheck from the failing budget? And would they have enough time to even commit?
Simon Cowell has a different vision for X-Factor. He says that he wants to trade in the big names for a lesser known group that shares real chemistry. He said that all the shows got too distracted by signing these big celebs but they don’t have much to say. His favorite thing about last season was Demi Lovato because she brought more to the panel than the mega overpaid Britney Spears.
The Voice has nothing to say because even with their recent judge switch up, they are still winning in the ratings and the talent.

In the land of not surprising news, Khloe Kardashian didn’t get asked back to host the X-Factor again.
Well some reports say that she was fired, others (likely planted by the Kardashian camp) say that it was a mutual decision because she’s got such a busy schedule.
Another rumor is that Mario Lopez and Khloe didn’t get along but in all actuality, it’s her mother that he couldn’t stand.
The source said, “Everyone thinks that Mario hated working with Khloe. But he was nothing but encouraging and supportive (to Khloe). It was her mother Kris who was the problem.”
“Kris would go to the producers and say Mario was being pushy and insensitive and she’d often confront Mario directly. There was even a very absurd incident when Kris suggested to the producers that they should dump Mario and replace him with one of her other daughters. Kris claimed that the chemistry between Mario and Khloe just didn’t work and that Kim or Kourtney would be a better fit.
Well, the producers agreed with the no chemistry argument, but also that Khloe was in over her head – and that’s why she’s gone.”
Mario will be coming back to host and so far, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato are the only judges returning for another season.

Britney Spears didn’t survive the cut this year. She told Simon Cowell that she wanted to get paid $18mil to eat cheetos, smoke cigarettes and wander off the set of X-Factor.. Simon said thanks but no thanks.
L.A. Reid, Simon’s token black side kick from the beginning, announced that he’s leaving the show too because he needs to focus more on his music label.
And it’s rumored that Khloe Kardashian won’t be bringing her suckage back to the show for another season. No word on if Mario Lopez is going to return as a co-host but we are sure he will be. Standing next to Khloe, he looked great!
The one person besides Simon who has the staying power after last season is Demi Lovato. No one really knew if she would be coming back. She even admitted that she might have been too quick to accept the job because she felt like it was too much responsibility for her to take on so soon.
But she announced yesterday that she will be back for another season. She said, “I’m so excited to return . . . I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better.”
Simon Cowell said that he was glad to have her back for another year, even though she works his nerves. He said, “I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year. She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying – I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back even during her world tour!”
There’s been no word on replacement judges just yet but the first round of the auditions are already underway.

Simon Cowell needs someone extra special to save X-Factor.
Simon thought Britney Spears could do it but you should never invest in cray. Demi Lovato’s a decent addition to the show but she’s a one-trick pony. Now she just has a bigger platform to talk about bullying and eating disorders.
Britney and LA Reid are out.. No real confirmation if Demi is sticking around (asked back) for another season. So who’s going to be the stars to pull in the viewers for Season 3?
Simon had a genius thought and put two names out there- Katy Perry and John Mayer.
It would be brilliant for them to join the show. Not only are they both mega talented artists but they are an unstable couple.. or at least they used to be.
They’ve dated on and off for six months but they seem like they’ve been going strong for awhile. There’s even rumors of them buying a house together and an engagement coming up.. Guess we’ll have to see.
But Simon wants to offer them a package deal- $20mil for both of them to come on board. Seems a little low though considering he coughed up $15mil for Britney last year.
A source said, “Simon sees it as a ‘brilliant’ pairing. Katy is sassy, honest and a huge star, while John’s more reserved. Having them as rivals would be genius . . . if they had on-air bust-ups, it’d be un-missable.”
Last year after the X-Factor bloodbath, Simon didn’t confirm any of the replacement judges until May so this could just be the beginning of the long drawn out judging rumors.

Simon Cowell had high hopes for this season of X-Factor. He brought in the big names Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Khloe Kardashian, but even they couldn’t save the show from suckage.
Britney backed out of the show because Simon didn’t wanna cough up $18mil for her to robotically tell each contestant they are ‘amazing’. LA Reid announced that he wouldn’t be returning for another season too. Guess they need a cooler black guy for the show. Too bad Usher is already taken.
Demi Lovato is still on the show as of now but she mentioned that she accepted the job too quickly and maybe she was still a little too fragile for such a demanding job. Sounds like she’s easing herself into the inevitable let-go too but in the meantime, she’s gunning for Lady Gaga to join her on panel. That would be perfect for Gaga since she won’t be able to perform for awhile after she gets that hip surgery.
And now guess who got fired this time… The only Kardashian to have a real job- Khloe.
Sources say that they are asking hosting pro Mario Lopez to come back for another season but they don’t want awkward Khloe fumbling through the show. Guess she should stick to the family biz instead of branching out to actual reality television.
It’s rumored that fired host Cheryl Cole could take her place. I don’t think that would be a smart move.. Khloe sucked but at least you could understand her.
Want someone who would really make a splash? Hire Kim Kardashian. Yeah she’ll suck but everyone would tune in to see if she birthed a baby live on stage… Just imagine if that happened… Kanye would snatch the mic from her and say “Immma let you finish but this moment needs some music”, then he would start serenading her with his autotuning skills… And then he says ‘We call ourselves the Aristocrats!’.
That birthing production would help out the X-Factor ratings and KUWTK ratings. Kourtney did the birthing on TV first, twice, but Kim could one-up her by doing it live!
Win-win! Your move Simon Cowell.
