Matt Lauer will be fired from the Today show if the ratings don’t improve by February!
He earns $25mil a year to co-host the morning show but he’s lost a lot of fans along the way since he’s responsible for the firing of Ann Curry. And the ratings continue to tank so insiders are saying that if they can’t improve by February, Matt will be getting axed.
They do have one last ditch effort to try to save the sinking ship. They are hoping to find a guy co-host that Matt can form a ‘bromance’ with.
But who could you pair with Matt Lauer to take away from the doucheness? Move Al Rocker up from the minor leagues? Nope, he hates him. Ryan Seacrest? Kelsey Grammer? Elisabeth Hasselbeck? Nobody?
Probably. Just cut your losses, Today Show. Or make things really excited and bring in his alleged baby mama Natalie Morales.

Christmas came early for Scarlett Johansson…she had the chance to fulfill a lifetime dream this morning…she got to play ‘weather girl’ on the TODAY show!
When Al came down with laryngitis and realized he’d be unable to do his usual weather report—Scarlett jumped at the chance.
Matt Lauer grilled her first though, “Do you have any weather experience.”
Scarlett shot back, “I have lots of experience with…weather.”
Once the job was hers she half-joked, “I have to say, this is my dream come true…doing the weather with Al Roker.”
But Matt Lauer corrected her, “No, you’re doing the weather for Al Roker, not with Al Roker!”
Scarlett took her job very serious—she used official weatherman hand gestures and subtle voice inflection to describe “heavy rain” sweeping through the Northwest. She even ended with a cute leg kick for punctuation.
After Scarlett did such a great job, Matt joked, “We’re getting news now from the control room, our director now has laryngitis and they’d like you to head down there.”

A new Holiday tradition began at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — angry Matt Lauer tweets accompanied TV viewership. People just couldn’t wait for evil Matt Lauer to mess up so they could pounce on him via Twitter. After Matt mispronounced the iconic Gershwin song ‘S Wonderful folks LET HIM HAVE IT (he called it S-Wonderful).
One tweeted: “Really Matt Lauer? ‘S. Wonderful’ Try ‘S’Wonderful,’ one of the most popular Gershwin songs ever written. Heard of the Gershwins?”
Another wrote, “Matt Lauer’s enunciation of ‘S Wonderful makes it clear that he is totally devoid of funk.”
There were also plenty of your general Matt Lauer hate tweets including these…
“Dear Matt Lauer, RETIRE!” one person wrote, which was a nice way of saying…
“YOU LOOK LIKE A CROTCHETY OLD MAN,” from another…. Or….
“Can’t decide if it’s Matt Lauer that I hate, or just the mindless blather that comes out of his face all the time,” wrote yet another fan hater. Ouch!
Thanks to this pack of angry tweeters, 2012 will always be remembered as the year the Matt Lauer Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tradition began…Will there be an M.L. drinking game soon too?
In other exciting Macy’s Parade News, RECYCLING BACKFIRED BIG TIME when folks noticed that the confetti falling upon them contained Social Security Numbers and other un-fun/total buzz kill information. Turns out, the confetti was shredded confidential police documents that were still readable!

Ann Curry will be gloating if this story is true. The National Enquirer is reporting that Matt Lauer is getting fired from the Today Show!
The magazine claims that he is getting fired after years of clashing with co-anchors as the ratings continue to tank.
Even Al Roker is on board with getting rid of Matt. According to the source, he’s been secretly plotting to get rid of him and even asked the executive producer for help. Al turned on Matt after he got Ann fired and has been making snide remarks on air ever since.
But Matt did just sign a new contract with the show in April. They would have to pay him off if they were going to get rid of him.
It’d be worth it though. Matt Lauer is the most hated man on TV besides Rachel Maddow.

He’s getting $25mil a year but will be asked to take a pay cut if they can’t beat Good Morning America in the ratings. Matt is under contract so the pay cut would have to be a voluntary decision but if he doesn’t give up some of his salary, other people will lose their jobs. Money has to be saved somewhere.
Jay Leno, who’s also on NBC, recently cut his $30mil salary in half to save his staff from getting axed.. Think Matt is willing to do the same thing? Considering he was so quick to throw Ann Curry under the bus, I’m thinking no. Next to go is Savannah Guthrie, then look for some massive layoffs. In the end, I think Matt Lauer will be the last to go but it may be too late.
