Who is going to join Mariah Carey on the American Idol panel? It’s been rumored that they are after Brad Paisley, Nick Jonas fessed up that he’s been in talks with the competition show and now, two new names have come up.
Alanis Morissette hinted that she might be heading to that judging panel! When she was asked if she was in negotiations with Idol, she just answered, “I’m in talks with SOMEBODY right now, can’t name any names, but I’m pretty excited at the thought of doing it more formally. I still have to investigate further and that’s all I can say.”
Her answer is very cryptic but it answers a very important question.. She may or may not be heading to American Idol.
And one artist said ‘hell no’ to Idol and all the other competition shows. Pink confessed that she was offered a spot on Idol, The Voice and X-Factor but turned them all down because she feels that she’s ‘too honest’.
Toby Keith admitted that Idol approached him about joining the judging panel but he turned them down! No, not because everyone knows that Mariah is going to be a huge diva and a nightmare on the set… Just simply because he can’t take that much time off from his day job, opening bars and doing music.
Since their first country choice turned them down, now Idol wants Brad Paisley to come on board. Hopefully, he’s not busy with his career too.
We still don’t know what’s going to happen to Randy Jackson. Initially it was said that Randy would take on more of a mentor role but he may have get to stay in the judges’ chair after getting Mariah to join to show.
American Idol wants to mimic The Voice by bringing a country star on board. They are considering bringing on Brad Paisley. He has a past with some of the winners.. He recorded a duet with Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery joined him on tour. Idol has had a few more notable country artists too, like Kellie Pickler, Lauren Alaina and Josh Gracin.
No word on if Brad has even been contacted yet or if he would even be willing to do it.
But even if Randy, Brad and Mariah are all on board, there may be one more spot open. Rumor is they are going to change back to four judges this season just like the other competition shows. Both The Voice and X-Factor have four judges and Idol has tried this format before.. They think that they need more star power to save the ratings, so a 4th celebrity judge could make a big difference.
We mean no disrespect U.K!
It’s just… America is kinda BURSTING at the seams here with talented people. We’ve got more UNBELIEVABLE vocalists than we know what to do with! Would you consider taking the finalists from the last season of Idol off our hands? Or how ’bout a few contestants from X Factor? The Voice? Or—at least—Chris Brown?
Sorry Breezy; easy target.
It was announced that both the ‘Spice Girls‘ and ‘Blur’ will reunite to perform at The Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Apparently this reunion is something Britain has wanted for some time (although we’re not sure why). The group was rumored to be in the cards for 2010′s FIFA World Cup, but it didn’t happen. A regular hold up has been a Spice by the name of Posh. It’s said that the reason she agreed to it this time was because hubby, David Beckham, played a big part in getting the Olympics to London. Also, now that he won’t be playing in them, she will have free time to rehearse (she’s usually too busy cutting orange slices).
Now that we sent an SOS to our friends from across the pond re: the overcrowding situation in the U.S. talent pool—let’s take a moment to admire how nicely these
girls women have turned out! They clean-up so well! It’s amazing how lovely they look without those horrendous costumes.
We told you yesterday that Steven Tyler is out at American Idol. He said that he had to dump his psycho mistress (Idol) before she boils his bunny and he’s gonna return to his true love (music). But it might not have been his choice to leave. Sources are saying that Idol didn’t want him back.
So what’s up with the rest of the crew? Jennifer Lopez is still hemming and hawing over whether or not she plans to return. She talked to the Today show yesterday about her questionable Idol future, saying that she can’t give a definite answer yet.. Yeah, she’s holding out for more money or a better offer just like she did last season.
And then there’s big dawg Randy Jackson. He’s been the permanent staple at Idol but there’s a good chance that he’s gonna be out as a judge too. Don’t worry, he’ll still be there but just as a mentor. Rumor is Mariah Carey is close to signing on as a judge and Randy, who is her manager, would switch over to a mentor.
Who are you hoping to see in the judges’ chair next season? Or do you think it’s time for Idol to hang up their competition and just let The Voice and X-Factor take over?
