Britney Spears didn’t survive the cut this year. She told Simon Cowell that she wanted to get paid $18mil to eat cheetos, smoke cigarettes and wander off the set of X-Factor.. Simon said thanks but no thanks.
L.A. Reid, Simon’s token black side kick from the beginning, announced that he’s leaving the show too because he needs to focus more on his music label.
And it’s rumored that Khloe Kardashian won’t be bringing her suckage back to the show for another season. No word on if Mario Lopez is going to return as a co-host but we are sure he will be. Standing next to Khloe, he looked great!
The one person besides Simon who has the staying power after last season is Demi Lovato. No one really knew if she would be coming back. She even admitted that she might have been too quick to accept the job because she felt like it was too much responsibility for her to take on so soon.
But she announced yesterday that she will be back for another season. She said, “I’m so excited to return . . . I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better.”
Simon Cowell said that he was glad to have her back for another year, even though she works his nerves. He said, “I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year. She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying – I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back even during her world tour!”
There’s been no word on replacement judges just yet but the first round of the auditions are already underway.

Just when you thought you could relax, because all of the TV talent show judge slots had been filled…several are vacating once again. This time the musical chairs is being played over at X-Factor.
In addition to LA Reid announcing his retirement from the world of publicly critiquing MORE showbiz hopefuls, there are also rumors that Britney Spears will not be returning to make and break dreams either.
Britney’s performance as judge has also been judged and the producers are doubtful she’ll be joining them next season in HOLLYWOOD! Her current contract is $15 million, but X-Factor hasn’t seen a return on their investment. Brit didn’t bring the HUGE ratings boost they expected.
“Britney, who was signed on a one-year deal, is the first person who will be expected to have her salary chopped. She is on a $15 million contract, which is absurd given that there’s been no huge surge in the ratings,” said a source for The Daily Star.
The show’s execs also feel that she hasn’t proven to be judge material either. The source said, “She just doesn’t seem to be cut out for a TV talent show.”
So who may replace Britney and L.A.? How about the wholesome duo—Rihanna and Chris Brown? Yep, they are said to be a consideration of Simon Cowell’s. The show gained some momentum this year, but it still has yet to live up to ‘Simon’s standards.’ But, he feels that Breezy and RiRi could be just the X-Factor he’s been looking for.
According to Aceshowbiz.com, “Simon is a huge admirer of Rihanna and knows she’s star quality. As well as bringing an aura to the panel thanks to her current standing in music, she is also feisty and will make great TV. Simon loves these sort of characters.”
As for Chris Brown…sounds like Simon just wants to use him for his controversial nature. The inside source said, “Adding Chris to the panel will certainly create a talking point.”
Allegedly, Simon will hit up Rihanna when he’s vacationing in Barbados over the holidays, which just happens to be her native country and where she always spends the holidays…

We didn’t see this one coming. No one just QUITS the X-Factor. Normally they are fired in groups and shoved out the door. (“Heard that! –Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, Cheryl Cole, that host guy).
L.A. Reid shockingly announced that he will not be returning for the third season of X-Factor. It has nothing to do with the super nice panel of judges (as Britney Spears chimes in with a “You were awesome!” for the millionth time) or Khloe Kardashian’s lack of hosting ability (She’s going to have to offer up Kanye if she wants to return next year). He just wants to focus on his #1 job that he’s put on the back burner- his music label… He is responsible for discovering gems like Avril Lavigne after all!
L.A. said, “I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected and it saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit . . . it was a nice break, it was a nice departure from what I’ve done for the past 20 years, but now I gotta go back to work. I’m not ruling out ever coming back, but I’m definitely not coming back next year. I have a job to do and once I get some work done and get some momentum then maybe I’ll revisit the idea a little later.”
He does offer up a suggestion on who should replace him. Jon Bon Jovi.
I love that idea, but Jon would never do it.. and don’t you need a cool black guy on the show anyway? (“Yeah dawg!”- Randy Jackson).

Britney presented L.A. with a birthday cake and a song for his 56th birthday and she sounded like she was gargling on her own spit. Thank goodness she’s doing the judging and not getting judged for her performance.

Marc Anthony is picking up where Jennifer Lopez left off. He’s joining a singing competition show. Don’t worry J.Lo, he’s not picking up where you left off at American Idol (although I think that would be a fantastic idea, just for bragging)… He’s actually going to be helping out the folks at X-Factor.
Marc is going to be the celebrity mentor for Simon Cowell’s contests. He’s got the ‘groups’ this year and Marc is going to help guide them and turn them into stars…. or boy bands or Spice Girls or something!
Justin Bieber is the celeb mentor for L.A. Reid’s group, the contestants that are 25 and older. And Nick Jonas is going to be helping out Demi Lovato with her group of the younger contestants.
Still no word on who is going to help mentor Britney Spears’ 17-24 year old contestants but I’m hoping they can get her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake to do it. That would be a fun match up! But I doubt that Jason Trawick or Jessica Biel would ever let that happen. They both seem to suck the fun out of everything.
