Troubled country star Mindy McCready committed suicide on Sunday. She shot her dog, then herself, on the front porch of her home where her baby daddy boyfriend David Wilson took his own life just last month. The police were suspicious of David’s death and they opened an investigation. Mindy was actually considered a suspect.
Mindy was 37 and left behind two kids- 6-year old Zander and 9-month old Zayne.
Since David’s death, Mindy was abusing prescription pills and alcohol. Her father called the authorities and said that Mindy was not taking care of the kids. They took her children away from her and ordered her to go to rehab. She was released just two days later.
Just days before she took her own life, she called up a private investigator and asked that he help put together a video for her. It was a cover to this song ‘I’ll See You Yesterday’.

The investigator just thought that she had put together this video to help others deal with suicide. She even had the number to a suicide hotline in the video. She told the private investigator that she had it set up so the song writer would receive all the royalties from the song.. Then she killed herself.
He said that he never realized that she was reaching out for help and was actually making her own suicide video.

Country star Mindy McCready committed suicide yesterday. She shot her dog, then shot herself in the face, on the front porch of her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Mindy was 37 years old and left behind her two kids, 6-year old Zander and 9-month old Zayne.
Mindy’s life has been troublesome for awhile. She’s been in and out of rehab (including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew), attempted suicide multiple times, managed to dodge her baby daddy (#1) boyfriend’s murder attempt… She also claimed to have an on-going affair that started in her teens with controversial baseball star/ steroid user Roger Clemens. And she was once engaged to Superman Dean Cain.
This past year has been especially bad for her. Her boyfriend and 2nd baby daddy, David Wilson, was found dead from a gunshot wound last month. They initially chalked it up to a suicide but later became suspicious of his death.. and Mindy became one of the suspects.
Two weeks later, Mindy’s kids were taken away from her and she was forced to go into a rehab for mental health and alcohol abuse issues. She was released the next day.
Mindy’s rep said that he didn’t have a comment but is ‘asking the media for sensitivity’ and ‘any family member coming forward to confirm this is completely inappropriate’.
Mindy’s brother didn’t listen to the rep though. He confirmed her death to the New York Daily News. NBC Dateline reporter Andrea Canning also confirmed the news. She tweeted, “Just got a call from Mindy McCready’s best friend that she shot and killed herself this evening. My heart breaks for her two boys. RIP”.
The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office released a statement, saying, “At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated.”
The autopsy will show if she was under the influence when she died.
