Tom Cruise’s new movie ‘Rock of Ages’ debuted this weekend but didn’t exactly rock it out at the theaters.. What went down at the box office this weekend?
1- Madagascar 3- Europe’s Most Wanted is still the big box office winner. The movie pulled in $35.5mil, bringing the two week total to $120.4.
2- Prometheus comes in at #2 with $20.2mil, bringing that two week total to $88.8.
3- Rock of Ages debuted at #3. It only earned $15mil over the weekend.
4- Snow White and the Huntsman brought in $13.8mil, bringing the 3 week total to $122.6.
5- That’s My Boy debuted with $13mil. Not great at the box office but not bad for an Adam Sandler movie.
The Avengers is still staying strong after 7 weeks in the theaters. It earned $8.8mil, bringing the total to $586.7.

2- The latest Alien flick, Prometheus, debuted at $50mil. Charlize Theron has two hits in the theaters this week.
3- Snow White and the Huntsman dropped down to the #3 spot in the second week. It pulled in $23mil, bringing the two week total to $98.5.
4- MIB 3 earned $13.5mil, totaling $135.5 during its three week run.
5- Marvel’s the Avengers is starting to slack but still the top overall earner. After 6 weeks in theaters, it brought in $10.8mil, bringing the total to $571.8.
What to Expect When You’re Expecting is a big box office disappointment. After 4 weeks in theaters, this movie has only brought in $31mil.

After earning $552mil in domestic sales (1.3bil worldwide), it passed ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2’ to become the third all-time highest grossing film… even though it’s not the top movie earner this weekend. What movie took the #1 spot this week? No surprise here… It’s the new Snow White movie.

5- Chernobyl Diaries debuted at $9.3mil.
And the Hunger Games is still hanging in there after 10 weeks in theaters. That movie holds the #9 spot, earning $2.8mil over the weekend, bringing the total to $395.8.

1- The Avengers remains the big money maker. It pulled in another $55mil over the weekend, bringing their grand total to $457mil. That’s now the highest earning movie of this year. Take that, Hunger Games.
2- Battleship opened with a not-so-impressive distant second with $25.3mil. Did you check out Rihanna’s acting debut?
3- Sacha Baron Cohen’s new flick, The Dictator, debuted with $17.4mil.
4- Dark Shadows earned $12.7mil, bringing its two week total to $50.9.
5- What to Expect When You’re Expecting debuted with $10.5mil. Even casting all the big name stars couldn’t save this movie.
And this is the first time in a few months that Hunger Games isn’t taking a spot in the top 5. It’s still bringing in the viewers after 9 weeks in theaters. It earned $3mil over the weekend, bringing their grand total to $391.6 million.
